The sound of children screaming and laughing is what I hear every Tuesday morning as I walk past the fenced-in playground of the École Maternelle on my way back from classes at the Lycée. The little kids are on recess, letting out all of their pent-up energy amidst the fresh air. I have never been introduced to them and am quite sure they don't know what to think of me coming and going daily, on their turf. Sometimes they shout out to me, "Bonjour!" One time I was lucky enough to have one of them stick their tongue out at me, haha.
Today, though was different. As I unlocked the 'portail' a few children were watching me very carefully, unsure of what I was doing. A little girl said, "C'est qui?!" (who is that?), her friend standing some distance away from the fence says, "beh, c'est un maman!" (Well, it must be a mommy!).
It was the most adorable moment I've been a part of since arriving to Morestel :)
