Laughing at ourselves is something us Americans do easily. I am becoming more and more proud of that ability everyday. Right now I am at the Lycée looking through English learning magazines to get content ideas for my classroom activities. In the Speakeasy I found an article titled "Shedding Light on Laughter" which contains a list of several decades' worth of American-loved light bulb jokes. These jokes are an "American tradition", did you know that?
My favorites:
how many feminists does it take to change a light bulb?
one, and that's not funny.
how many O.J. jurors does it take to change a light bulb?
none of them believe it's burnt out.

I have been doing a lot of laughing at myself lately... it's a good way to get the students energized!
