Brangue

Brangue is the former home of Paul Claudel and the setting for Stendahl's most famous book, 'Le Rouge et Le Noir'. Claudel was a French Diplomat at the turn of the 20th century and is most well known for being a writer i.e. plays, poetry, and short stories. It is very difficult to find a link in English to either of their biographies or works, otherwise I would provide you with more information.

I had the chance to go on a guided tour of the village with one of my students. She practiced her English and I responded in French :) Anyway, Brangue is smaller than Morestel, has a significant amount of farms, and is beautifully set on a hill amongst small mountains, and just next to the Rhône River.
